Applications are invited for Engineering Workers for Temporary Full-Time and Casual assignments in the Engineering Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department.  The successful candidates will perform a variety of manual duties including water, sewer and storm installation, repair and maintenance.  Road construction and maintenance tasks and other physical duties may also be assigned. 

RATE OF PAY:              $27.13 per hour (2015 C.U.P.E. rates)

HOURS OF WORK:       Temporary Full- Time hours are 40 hours per week 
                                    Casual hours are up to 40 hours per week 

Temporary Full Time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment.     Casual employees are paid 12% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid vacation.   

The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance. A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License is required. Applications are invited for Casual Clerk Typist 3 assignments at the City of Langley in the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department providing coverage for vacation, illness and other absences.  The Clerk Typist 3 is responsible for clerical and public relation duties which involve interacting with instructors, user groups, community organizations and the general public. 

RATE OF PAY:            Pay Grade 12:  $25.09 – $26.07 (2015 C.U.P.E rates)

HOURS OF WORK:    *Up to 35 hours per week 
                                 *Will vary according to need and length of assignment 
                                 *Monday to Sunday including days, afternoons, evenings, and weekends

Casual employees are paid 12% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid annual vacation.

Applications are invited for Casual Recreation Worker 5’s in the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department at the City of Langley.  We are looking for enthusiastic fitness instructors for a variety of group fitness classes and group weight training.  The successful candidate will design and instruct safe, effective and appropriate fitness programs to meet the needs of different demographics and programs. Fitness classes will be developed to promote safety, fun, enthusiasm, strength and a healthy lifestyle.  

RATES OF PAY:  Recreation Worker 5:  $25.49 - $29.74 

HOURS OF WORK:    Up to 40 hours per week; Monday to Sunday. 

*Hours of work will depend on programing and operational needs.

Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid annual vacation.

BCRPA Group Fitness and current First Aid Certification are required.  BCRPA or equivalent Certification in Group Weight Room Training, Personal Training, Yoga, Pilates, and Spin are desired.  Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.  Details of the position and requirements can be found in the job description.

Applications are invited for the Regular Full-Time Position of Clerk – Permits and Licenses to work in the Development Services Department at the City of Langley.  This is clerical work of some variety and moderate complexity in processing applications for various permits and licenses and providing administrative support to the department.  The Clerk – Permits and Licenses receives and processes a variety of permit and license applications, complaints and inspections requests; maintains departmental records and data tracking systems; responds to enquiries and requests for information; prepares various documents and reports; and makes recommendations for new office procedures and processes.  

RATE OF PAY: Pay Grade 14:  $26.86 to $27.94

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Completion of Grade 12 and several years of clerical and administrative experience, preferably in a municipal building or licensing department or division, are desirable.  Ability to use standard software applications including Microsoft Office is required.  Considerable knowledge of and ability to implement and maintain all Tempest software modules related to municipal building and business license applications, permits and inspections is also required.  Applicants must have strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.   Details of the position and its requirements can be found in the job description.
